Here is a step-by-step guide to the standard Gracie Barra knot (the “Standard Knot” or “Hollywood Knot”). Step 1: Find the Center - Hold the belt by its ends and let it hang. - Find the midpoint (center) of the belt. Step 2: Place & Wrap - Place the center of the belt just below your belly button. - Wrap both ends around your waist to the back. - Cross the ends in the back and bring them back to the front. You should now have two ends of equal length hanging in front of you. Step 3: The Cross & Tuck - Take the Left End and cross it over the Right End. - Take that same end (now on the right) and tuck it under both layers of the belt (against your gi pants) and pull it up. - Tighten the belt by pulling both ends horizontally.
